Banana Fudge Cake
Recipe by Summer Johnson
Ingredients
1 pkg Devils Food Chocolate Cake Mix (and all that is required to make cake)
1 small pkg instant vanilla pudding
1 cup milk
1 8oz pkg of cream cheese
1 tsp imitation Banana extract (important that it is the imitation, not real!)
1 8oz contained Cool Whip
1 jar Smucker’s Hot Fudge ice cream topping
3-4 large ripe bananas
Directions
Prepare cake as directed on box. Cook in 2 9-in round cake pans. Cool completely.
Blend pudding mix and 1 cup cold milk. In another bowl, beat cream cheese until fluffy. Add in pudding mixture and banana extract. Add 1-2 mashed RIPE bananas. Blend together. Add container of cool whip, folding until completely combined.
In a small bowl, stir 2/3 cup hot fudge until spreadable consistency.
Remove cake from pan, cover bottom layer with hot fudge. Layer sliced bananas. Top with pudding mixture (about ½ of it, if not a little more, just make sure you have enough left for the top). Place second cake on top, cover with remaining pudding mixture. Add hot fudge to a pastry bag or ziplock, work/knead into the corner, cut tip and drizzle over top of cake. Add sliced bananas as garnish on top if desired.
My friend made this for her duaghter's birthday, and I made one myself as well. It is trully wonderful, but eat it that day. It doesn't seem to be the same the next day, just like a ripe banana!
